Cassie settles against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs one day after she filed lawsuit alleging rape, physical abuse
Sean “Diddy” Combs and R&B singer Cassie have settled a lawsuit she filed against the legendary music producer and rapper that accused him of raping and physically abusing her for over a decade.
Both sides “resolved the claims … to their mutual satisfaction” on Friday night – one day after the bombshell lawsuit was filed in Manhattan federal court, according to Cassie’s legal team.
“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support,” Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, wrote in a statement.
Combs, 54, added in his own statement: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best.”
The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
Ventura had claimed in the short-lived suit that Combs raped and viciously beat her starting in 2005 and until 2018.
“After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships,” Ventura, 37, said in a statement at the time the suit was filed.
