Flesh trade racket busted in Navi Mumbai; two held

Police busted a prostitution racket in Navi Mumbai township and rescued two women and a minor girl who were allegedly being forced into prostitution, an official said on Wednesday.

Atul Aher, senior police inspector of the anti-human trafficking cell, said that a man and a woman have also been arrested.

Acting on a tip-off, police laid a trap near a jewelery shop in Vashi area on Monday evening and spotted the two accused who had arrived there along with the victims, he said.

The officer said that on seeing the police, the accused tried to run away but were caught.

He said that the three victims have been sent to rescue home.

The official said that a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
