FTC asks Twitter for Elon Musk’s internal communications: report

The Federal Trade Commission has asked Twitter to provide detailed information about internal communications, layoffs and other business decisions related to owner Elon Musk as part of an investigation into the social media company. The Wall Street Journal reports Tuesday, citing documents.
The FTC, chaired by Leena Khan, has sent 12 letters to Twitter and its lawyers since Musk took over in October. It also asked the company to “identify all journalists” who were given access to company records and to provide information about the launch of the Twitter Blue subscription service, the report said.

The FTC is also seeking to subpoena Musk to testify in connection with the investigation, the WSJ reported.
Twitter, the FTC and Musk did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment.
