FTR’s music became a hit and he would enter into a clash with The Guns. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler immediately feuded with Austin and Colton Gunn. Harwood would pull Austin Gunn out of the ring and then both would hit the Shatter Machine on Colton Gunn.
Harwood and Wheeler firmly put themselves back in the tag-team title picture when The Guns defeated the top teams in a four-way match to retain their titles.

FTR had not appeared in AEW since December 21 when The Gunns defeated them via pinfall at the AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash. The team has been on a losing streak for the past few months.
Harwood and Wheeler lost to Hiroki Goto and Yoshi-Yashi at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 and to Dragon Lee and Darlisto at AAA Noche de Campiones. In those matches, they lost both the IWGP World Tag-Team Titles and the AAA Tag-Team Titles. The duo also lost the Ring of Honor tag-team titles to The Briscoe Brothers in the final battle on December 10.
