Democrats have been running like slaughtered chickens since news broke that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy gave Tucker Carlson unfettered access to surveillance footage from inside the Capitol during the January 6, 2021 riots by Trump supporters.
The Fox News host will air five stories culled from the footage Monday and Tuesday night, with Democrats and their media toady countering the “rebellion” narrative they’ve been pushing since day one.
The characterization of conservative Republicans as a “super-mega quasi-fascist” threat to democracy was pushed by the partisan J6 committee and was the Democrats’ main sales pitch in last year’s midterms.
Dems don’t have much else to run on through 2024, so Carlson’s fact-finding mission is an existential threat to their electoral prospects.
That’s why they’re accusing McCarthy of jeopardizing House security and handing Carlson the tools for the “next coup,” which, you may not be surprised to learn, they envision as a Russian sleeper agent. .

But when you look at what Carlson’s team has collected over the past two weeks through thousands of hours of video, you’ll be amazed at how different the reality inside the building that day is compared to the deceptively edited prime-time drama of the J6 committee. was Prepared by the former president of ABC News for maximum emotional impact.
For example, Carlson’s team says the J6 committee added audio to the silent CCTV footage, adding screams and other crowd noises to make it seem more ominous. There is no doubt about what happened that day; J6 was shocking and violent in parts. It remains a scar on the nation, but it was not an “insurgency” or a “terrorist” attack.
It was not the “greatest threat” to American democracy since the Civil War, as Joe Biden claims. It was no worse than 9/11. The only people who died that day were Trump supporters.
Despite the largest investigation in FBI history – surely overkill – no one has been charged with “insurrection” and there is no evidence of an organized conspiracy to overturn the presidential election results. Proceedings resumed a few hours late and Biden’s victory was certified.
It was an ugly outburst of mob rage, but it lasted a few hours compared to the months of deadly mayhem that swept the country ahead of the 2020 elections.
Yet the American public has been subjected to a campaign of lies about J6 in which cherry-picked videos of violent Trump supporters smashing windows have been played on a loop for two years.
We have been lied to that police officers were killed when there were none. Brian Siknik died the next day of a stroke.
It has been a non-stop, one-sided campaign while Democrats dominate every lever of power in Washington.
But now that the GOP controls the House, it’s time for transparency, and that’s what McCarthy has provided.
Carlson will show counter-narratives so the American public can get a more balanced view of what happened that day.
He will show that the J6 committee twisted everything.
He will show hundreds of peaceful people inside the Capitol behaving like tourists, politely queuing, walking inside rope lines, taking selfies and pausing to pick up an overturned bollard, while police look on.
Most amazingly, you will see for the first time the truth about the so-called Kanon Shaman, Jacob Chanceley.
This guy with the horns and face paint has become the poster child of J6 villainy, and yet when you watch his journey through the Capitol you wonder how he got 3.5 years in prison for “obstructing official proceedings.” is cutting
How many more harmed Americans were sacrificed to a federal justice system corrupted by political lies?
Now is this a security risk?
That’s why Democrats are so scared. Their edifice of lies is about to fall and all they have to do is throw mud in the hope that half the country will remain in darkness. His favorite trick is to discredit Carlson.
Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin told MSNBC’s Joe Reid that giving the tapes to Carlson was a “serious security risk” because he is “pro-Putin. . . . It’s really out of Putin’s playbook.”
As usual, Ruskin’s allusions to Russian collusion make no sense but he seems to be implying that Vladimir Putin will somehow see Carlson’s program and learn to attack the Capitol. “The reason for all [the footage] was not released because the floor design, it shows the evacuation routes, it shows where the vice president went, it shows where the senior members of Congress were evacuated,” Raskin said.
What a joke.
First, Carlson’s team has been careful to anticipate security concerns and that the footage they use will be vetted by the House before it airs.
Second, the J6 committee showed endless footage of then-VP Mike Pence and Republican Sen. Josh Hawley being kicked out, as well as scenes from inside McCarthy’s office as his staff prepared to flee. Are there any security concerns?
Third, Nancy Pelosi’s filmmaker daughter appears to have been given access to the footage to make the documentary.
Carlson’s program has been far more responsible and sensible.
