“American Idol” fans are checking Katy Perry, 38, to see how Contestant Sara Beth Liebe was treatedA lucky 25-year-old mother of three, on Sunday’s episode of the singing competition.
The red-headed, quirky California native openly admits that he’s not much of a musician except for his church choir and karaoke nights.
Perry, who made a colorful comment about being a three-time mother, blurted out, “Is this your dream?”
“Um,” muttered a seemingly panicked Liebe.
“If it’s not your dream, you might as well quit because you’ve got too many dreams behind you,” Perry said.
A nervous Liebe revealed she was “still processing” being away from her children to stand in front of Perry, along with fellow judges Lionel Richie, 73, and Luke Bryan, 46, as a “teenage dream”. The singer inspired him to perform. a song
“Freaky us, Freaky Friday,” Perry said.
Liebe first sang Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good” as an unfazed Perry interrupted, “Come on, we need more,” as Liebe continued.
“It’s not enough,” Perry insists at the end of the song. “Try ‘Benny and the Jets,'” he instructed, claiming Liebe had nothing to lose because it “isn’t his dream yet.”
Perry then told her to “show us what your voice can do, push it to the limit, don’t look back.
“Sing it like it’s your new dream,” he added.
The contestant took Perry’s advice and pushed her voice to its wailing limit during her rendition of the Elton John classic – apparently impressing Perry, who continued the demands throughout the second song.
“more than! Stop it,” Perry instructed.
All three judges applauded Liebe’s second attempt, though she said she felt she would pass following Perry’s recommendations.
“Accidental American Idol,” Perry’s nickname is Liebe.
“I feel like a comic strip character just came to life,” Perry said after Sara Beth performed, with Bryan expressing his “love” for her performance.
“Look, if this isn’t your dream, it won’t go far because I also respect everyone who walks through that door who will give their lives for this golden ticket. [to Hollywood]”Perry spoke of more expectations to advance to the next round of the competition.
In the end, Bryan and Perry voted Liebe through to the next round, while Richie “went with her gut” and voted against her because she didn’t think she took the competition seriously.
“Sarah Beth, you are in a dream now. Go get your golden ticket,” Perry dismissed Liebe. “Hurry before the dream ends!”
The Post has contacted a representative for Perry for comment.

Last week, Perry broke down in tears after auditioning a survivor of the 2018 mass shooting at Santa Fe High School with an emotional performance of “Stone” by Whiskey Myers.
“Our country has failed our king!” Perry shouted. “That’s not right!”
