TikTok oppression
Ricky Slott is on the mark again in his revealing and truly horrifying description of the evils perpetrated against our youth by China’s TikTok (“Alternative Facts,” PostScript, February 26).

This situation raises the question: Will we be defeated from within by external forces that can be stopped? Do American parents not care about their children? Who is in charge?

Inspirational Scott
What a wonderful, straight-forward, heartfelt piece on choosing faith, responsibility and patriotism over anger, resentment and pity (“The Left’s Evidence on America,” Tim Scott, Post Opinion, March 1).

Sen Scott’s spiritual foundation came from his family, which is very important to any young person’s development.

Sadly, such support is often missing for many children, especially those from broken homes. When times are tough, it’s easy to blame others, but that never solves the problems.

Acknowledging a problem exists requires taking responsibility, creating a plan of action to defeat the problem, and then carrying out the plan, which can take time and a lot of effort.

Scott is so right that we are the land of opportunity, as proven by all the people who are desperate to move to the USA.

Opportunity does not guarantee anything, but it gives people the opportunity to make something of themselves through hard work and discipline. Scott is an exceptional example.

Bad deeds of Japan
Regarding Abrar Omisch’s comments that the Battle of Iwo Jima “set a record of what human evil is capable of,” he ignored Japan’s massive atrocities.

These include the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor and attacks during World War II against China (in the Rape of Nanking), Indonesia, Indo-China, the Philippines, and other countries (“The Official Speech of Iwo Jima”). February 27).

She ignores the fact that Iwo Jima was the only Marine battle in the Pacific in which the Marines suffered more casualties than the Japanese.

As a wounded Marine combat infantryman serving in Vietnam as an 18-year-old in 1968, I suggest that Omish find herself another country if she does not treasure the benefits of this country, which is a provided by the bravery of the United States Marines against The most evil empire of the 20th century, Japan.

Assault on the cashier
My deepest sympathies go out to Lisbel Rodríguez Luna for having to endure such a heinous assault by a disgruntled customer and her thug daughters (“Bx. Grocery Beating,” Feb. 28).

Rodriguez Luna was only doing her job when she forbade the customer from cutting the line, but still received a brutal beating as payback. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. All five women are despicable and should be rounded up and thrown behind bars for a very long time.

Joe’s fentanyl is wrong
How on earth did this buffoon get elected (“Mom rips ‘disgusting’ Biden to laugh at claims of blame for sons’ fentanyl deaths,” March 2)?

This clown’s lack of empathy for a grieving mother shows how much we are disgraced in the White House. This administration and its cabinet is a Saturday Night Live skit.

The difference between the two dead boys and Hunter Biden is that Hunter’s father is a millionaire who helped him. What a disgrace. We have an apology for a president.
