Mets’ Brett Baty racking up hits in spring training — and errors

Here are some nuggets from the Mets’ spring training on Sunday:
The hits keep coming
Jupiter, Fla. Brett Baty led the Mets with eight hits in the Grapefruit League, with two more hits — including a double — in a 7-1 win over the Cardinals at Roger Dean Stadium.
…and so do mistakes
Betty also made another error at third base, the third of the spring.

Caught my eye
Also in his last game before the WBC, Jeff McNeil went all-out for another hit, hitting a grounder to first.
“He sniffed a hit there,” said Buck Showalter, who said McNeil was timed with 3.9 seconds down the line on the play.
Monday’s schedule
The Mets are off and will resume action on Tuesday, when they travel to West Palm Beach, Fla. will face the Astros in , thanks to a WBC departure with a new-look roster. Carlos Carrasco is scheduled to start at Palm Beach Ballpark at 6:10 p.m.
