Non-disclosure of cases in poll affidavit: Dy CM Fadnavis appears before court

Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis appeared before a court here on Saturday in connection with an application seeking action for alleged non-disclosure of Criminal matters In his election affidavit in 2014.
Fadnavis’ statement will be recorded by Civil Judge VA Deshmukh after which the court will hear the final arguments in the case.
A lawyer, Satish Uke, had filed an application seeking criminal action against Fadnavis on the grounds that cases of cheating and forgery had been registered against the BJP leader in 1996 and 1998, but he had denied this in his election affidavit before the 2014 assembly elections. Information was not given. .

Uke is currently in jail after being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate for money laundering.
