The Odisha government plans to set up Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) parks in all 30 districts of the state, a top government official said.

Chief Secretary SC Mohapatra said at a program here that MSMEs will get all infrastructure support including land, electricity and water in the districts.

The Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation of Odisha (IDCO) has been given over Rs 450 crore to develop necessary infrastructure in the districts for this purpose, he said at the closing session of Propack Odisha 2022 and MSME Odisha 2022 organized by Odisha Assembly of Small and Medium. said in Enterprises (OASME) on Sunday.

“In the last few years, we have seen a 30-40% increase in financing by banks to MSMEs which is encouraging. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has held two rounds of meetings with bankers in this regard,” Mohapatra said in response to the entrepreneurs’ allegations. said – Support from banks.
Odisha Industries Minister PK Deb said that the younger generation should take risks and not depend only on government assistance.

“Odisha has got the best infrastructure for industries. Big and heavy industries are coming up in Odisha. But what the state needs most is MSME. Industry bodies should come forward and suggest policy changes for better industrialization,” he said.
State Finance Secretary Vishal Dev asked banks to ensure availability of finance to MSMEs as this sector is an important pillar of economic growth. But industries in this sector often face the problem of funds.
He said that banks have been asked to ensure availability of finance to MSMEs and take care of the quality component of finance.

The government is also regularly organizing workshops with various banks and trading platforms.

“Our plan is to have all PSU banks on trade discount platforms by the end of the year. This will help MSMEs a lot,” Dev said and urged banks to lend more than the target for them.
