Palghar: Rs 21L compensation for kin of ambulance driver killed in 2019 accident

Maharashtra Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) Palghar 21.64 lakh as compensation to the family of an ambulance driver killed in an accident in 2019.

M.A.C.T. Member of A.S. The representative gave orders Maharashtra The State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will pay compensation to the claimants at the rate of 6 percent per annum from February 12, 2020 till the amount is recovered.

The orders passed on February 24 were made available on Sunday.

According to the claimants, Kaluram Subhash Kadu (25) was on his way to Shahpur on a motorcycle with his friend for work on December 23, 2019, when an ST bus collided with a two-wheeler.

In the accident, Kadu died and his friend was injured. The victim was an ambulance driver posted at Shahpur sub-district hospital and earned Rs 14,617.

The MACT member observed that the accident occurred due to the negligence of the MSRTC bus. 16,500 for loss of property in compensation, Rs. 16,500 for funeral expenses and Rs. 44,000 towards the parental consortium.

Meanwhile, Rupesh Arvind Kakkar, the friend of the deceased who was injured in the accident, was given a compensation of Rs 6.28 lakh.
