Tiger Woods withdraws from Masters after agonizing Saturday

Tiger Woods has seen enough of Augusta this weekend.
After struggling to make the cut at the Masters in brutal conditions on Saturday, Woods opted to withdraw from the season’s first major on Sunday morning.
Woods, 47, looked on Saturday amid the rain and wind and was 6-over in his third round after making the cut at 3-over par.
Woods faced the possibility of playing 29 holes on Sunday to complete the tournament after making his 23rd straight cut at the Masters.
Woods was 54th and last among players to make the cut, sitting three shots behind his closest competitor, Charles Schwartzel.
Woods has admitted he will never be the same after seriously injuring his right leg in a 2021 car crash.
While Woods’ golf game remains competitive, his ability to walk courses — especially hilly ones like Augusta — will always be a challenge.

The treacherous rain that drenched the Georgia course and combined with the wind and cold made Saturday a nightmare for the field, but especially the five-time champion.
Woods’ caddy Joe LaCava told The Post’s Ian O’Connor before the tournament, “My biggest fear is going in … is we have a lot of rain and thunder and we stop and start, Or we have extra holes one day,”
“I can’t imagine he will be 27-plus [in one day] Around here. … I’m firstly hoping that doesn’t happen.

After suspending play on Saturday afternoon, players resumed their rounds at 8:30 a.m. ET on Sunday.
