Two dead, 16 injured in train derailment in Egypt

At least two people were killed and 16 others injured when a train derailed north of Cairo on Tuesday, according to Egypt’s health ministry.

The transport ministry said in a statement that the train collided with a railway station platform in the city of Clube.

About 20 ambulances reached the spot to help the injured.

Egypt’s Transport Minister Kamel al-Wazir ordered the formation of a committee to find out what caused the derailment and to “identify those responsible and limit the damage”.
